Boater X

Where?

Based at the slalom course on the Durance, at L’argentiere La Besse, 15mins south of Briancon in the French Alps.

When?

Gathering together for racing in the evening should start about 5pm, with the aim to get racing by half five or so. Prizes and honour will be doled out once the racing is done.

What?

Racing will take place in the following catagories

- Advanced – a taxing course, using more powerful features of the slalom course, and of course, a Le Mann style running start.

- Intermediate – a more simple route down the slalom course, with a more conventional “in boat” start.

- Novice – on the lake, but with a difference.

- Bloater X – A reasonably taxing course for the old boys and girls out with their universities.

- Inflatey X – always popular, anything thats not a boat.

Who?

Advanced, Intermediate and Novice are open to all students, and Bloater X and Inflatey X are open to anyone remotely connected to a universtiy canoe club. Entry is at your own risk and its at your and your club’s discression. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone, and it is the club’s duty to ensure that their members are in fit state to paddle in their chosen catagories.
